Q: What cause the Notebook Battery life last shorter than expected?
A: The battery life depends on the applications and usage.  For example, running in plain DOS mode will consume much less battery power than Windows.  Multimedia, gaming, heavy graphic and sound applications tend to drain the battery.  Also, frequent on, off, and suspension mode will also drain the battery as well.  The battery life will be greatly improved by having it totally charged and totally drained instead of charging it at half-full.  The life-expectancy for most notebook batteries is about 12 to 16 months.  As the time goes by, the battery will be less able to hold the charge.  Since the battery is a consumable item, depending on the usage, it is normal for the battery to be replaced every year.

Q: My system is not posting or automatically shuts off in few seconds.  The unit is brand new out of the box.  I have made sure that the CPU and ram are compatible. And the CPU jumper switches are set correctly according to the jumper switch diagram.
A: Please check to make sure the thermal pad protection plastic shield is being removed from the CPU heat sink.  We have found many end users did not remove this protection shield when they assembling the system which may causing the system not powering up or shuts down by itself to prevent overheating.

Q: My system is locking up (or getting distored graphics) in 3D applications after about 20 mins or so. My processor and memory rams are listed in the QVL, what would be your suggestion?
A: First, please test to make sure all components are in good working condition such as the processor, memory and Hard Drive.  Second, please try applying additional thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU/VGA heat sinks since this may be caused by the heat.
